hi i have recently discovered so rust on my car due to a batterie leak. i will post some pictures and if bad how can i treat it

Doesn't look like structural damage... Have you brushed it with a wire brush or some steel wool? If its just on the surface, and goes back to bare metal, disasemble the part, and spray it that spray paint that eats and protects against rust.

i would also hit it with rust converter than repaint it

Yeah rust converter! Thats what I was thinkin of! But I think would be a steller idea to dismantle the part so you don't f*** up other bits and bobs
