Default Alternative way to pop the bonnet?

    Hello there people.
My friend has an issue which has us both scratching our heads..
He has a VT Clubsport 2001 and the battery went flat.
He took the battery out of the car to hook it up to a charger (didn't have an extension lead i'm guessing)
Then stupidly locked the car up and closed the bonnet.
Now he can't get into the car at all.
There is only one manual lock on the car, the drivers side and it is apparently broken, and with no battery in the car the central locking wont work.
Since he cant get into the car he can't pull the bonnet release.
    Any ideas?

The drivers door lock is the only way to open it with the key. Does he think it is broken because it won't turn? It takes a bit of effort to turn the lock, you think you are going to break it, then it turns and unlocks the door.

I didn't think the door lock could be pushed down with the door open.

Hmm nice idea but 2 problems, how do we know which is the positive on the altenator, and most importantly the front bumper/body kit thing goes completely under the engine and blocks access.

You don't need to, it's the starter motor that you need the positive terminal for, and it will be the red cable.

He cant open the boot, he has no power.
The battery-window option though, there's an idea...
Try to use a jack to raise the front of the car up, enough to get to the bonnet release.

easy, get a long flat head screw driver go underneath the bonnet, put the screwdriver into the bottom of the bonnet hatch, twist it till it realeases the bonnet and then you can open it, this exact same thing happend to my vr. goodluck mate p.s you may need to take off the thermo fans, this can be done from underneath

would've thought being a vt he'd still have a key hole on the boot

You use hand power to turn the key in the boot lock

Open the boot manually with the key and go through the center seat .
If you don`t want to break it , then don`t bring it out to play with it !

You are ####ing kidding me right...

So both the boot lock & driver door lock don't work? You want to get the bonnet open tho...

So you are trying to steal this car right??

even with a dead battery, with a VT you can still open the boot, climb your ass through, and pull the lever, you dont need power for either.

still the angle grinder idea to the bonnet sounds like a solid plan of attack.
