What do you mean your exhaust is too hard?

Check you haven't got a vacuum leak. You may have knocked a hose off when you did the spark plugs.

    Hi mate,

Pretty sure it's a vacuum leak or a problem with the ignition system. I just fixed the exact same fault on a ford festiva, turned out there was a fine hairline crack in the distributor cap.

If you just had the plugs out and replaced the fuel filter, and the problem wasn't happening before that, then that's the place to start. Check your work and make sure everything is installed correctly, all connections are secure, plugs aren't cracked and are gapped correctly, leads weren't damaged and were installed in the correct order etc.

If they are new, They should have been gapped right out of the pack, 1.5mm is right. You should still check your spark leads to make sure they are good and not damaged, also recheck the plugs, it's really easy to crack them by over tightening, doesn't take much.

Also check your fuel filter to make sure that you installed it correctly.

Both plugs and fuel filters can cause the car to stall, so it seems no coincidence that the issue started after you changed these items.
