    Default Spun Bearing V6?

Long time reader, first time poster, found some good info here in the past, however I'm now stumped.

Recently(past 2weeks), I've had my timing chain tensioner replaced(during which they messed around with the harmonic balancer), which fixed the massive rattling in the front. However I could now hear a slight tapping sound that got faster under load, so I was thinking noisy lifters. Although tonight after giving it a bit of the boot (only once mind you, just my luck), I noticed it felt incredibly sluggish/just not right - i could also hear a crunching noise that got faster under load. Does this seem like a spun bearing? If so, how much am I looking at? Any help would be appreciated.

Getting over all the issues this car is throwing me.

All depends on how much money you want to spend. If it is a spun bearing, means engine out, pulled down, (stripped) crankshsft out, machined and refitted with new o/s bearings, mains and big ends. by the time this is all done, you will be looking at $1500 minimum! Reco engine $2300 to $2700 basic. Good low Ks VX-VY engine $500 to $900 plus fitting if you can't do it yourself. Fitting varies from $300 up. To me, low Ks engine sounds like the way to go.

So I took the car back to the mechanics who did the work, while sitting in their yard checking it out coolant begans spilling out everywhere. Take belt off, think its harmonic balancer, which they took off when doing timing chain tensioner(all up for timing chain + replace high pressure power steering hose i got charged $700). Not sure which way to go, new balancer vs whole new donk...

Sorry I can see this reply is a bit late, but just for the info. The harmonic balancer doesn't have coolant behind it. If you have suddenly lost a lot of coolant, and doing a quick start with the belt of removes the rattle, there is a really good chance it is just the water pump. About $50.00 on ebay, plus a couple of hours and a couple of beers to fit.
