Angry Mr NOT HAPPY JAN

So since i have owned my 98 VT 5 speed with 70,000kms i have had $9000 worth of warrenty work done to it and now it wont start!!! New gearbox new tyres new seals new bushes new shocks new headlights. Once again the holden i grew up with and loved has gone straight down the toilet. RACQ reckons that the immobiliser has its own ECU and it wont let me lock the doors with the remote and when the engine kicks over it wont start, Starting to lose faith in holden thinking maybe should have bought a FORD insted....
Cheers to holden for ruining the one big pleasure in my life......... DRIVING!!!

Ok ..... so i get my oh so wonderful VT comm TOWED to holden were it sits and if i care, burns. They wont cover a BCM under warrenty and still they will charge me $500 to replace it and to top it off i had to drive my mate ford behind the tow truck. SHAME HOLDEN SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe i should have just gone with the reliable ford insted of wasting me time with the $19,000 brick i now so painfully own.

So you expect your VT that is how long out of warranty to be covered until when???
If you can provide details maybe someone can offer some advice.
If you let me know the details of EXACTLY what is going on i may be able to help.

need to know:
does the Theft deterrent light stay on when you try to start it?
does the central locking work at all? (with the key in the lock?)
has the car battery been flat?

Rob

Batt is fine and neither key (spare inc) will unlock/lock via remote but i can do it manually. and the theft deterrent light stays on and when it starts it will go to fire with spark then cut out. and to get it to try again you have to remove all the fuses. Holden rang and reckon its the crank angle sensor like WTF??????? as if. That has nothing to do with the remotes not working. I know im ranting but i have only had it 5mths and 3mths of that its spent in holden getting fixed. I dont expect it to be covered by warrenty foreva but i know that when you buy a car with 70,000kms on it the G/Box is not R/S and $9,000 worth of work needs to be done. I love holdens i really do i have had them all my life but this is the newest holden i have bought and out of them all its by far the worest. I think i just need someone to restore my faith in my beloved brand thats all. Cheers for the help and for putting up with me but you have to understand where im coming from and see my anger in it all. Thanks again.

sounds like the remotes have carked it, its unusual to have both die at once but not entirely out of the question, they are correct to assume the BCM is faulty but i would try to program a new remote first, it may just be that
What area are you in?

Unhappy

Im on the goldcoast and the car is at robina holden. Hopefully i get it back tomorrow and it will all be working i will call them tomorrow and suggest the key idea but something tells me they will think im full of shit. I have worked with older cars all my life so i know the ropes but im not to cluey on newer cars hence why i got a vt so i could make it a new project. I just wish it was a little less painfull to see it always at the shop and never on the road. :b:
Still i wish i kept my HQ gts you couldnt beat it for reliability.
