hey guys, i was just wondering if people thought buying second hand extractors were ok?
they are off a parted out car. im currently looking into buying some extractors in the near future, so i thought i could get the extractors id like as well as save 200ish$$$.
i was just wondering if there will still be bonus's from second hand extractors (paying less) rather then brandnew (paying top dollar)?
i am in the hunt for second hand extractors too, i reckon its the G-O
as long as theyre not cracked or rusted through theyll be fine. Its steel pipe after all
Yeah I recently bought 2nd hand extractors, saved a fair bit. But I'd be careful of ones that have been painted, and if there's any signs of repairs or big dents, which usually happen to the Y pipe. Also make sure they are all straight where they bolt up to the motor.![]()
its fine if they arent to old bud, but new is always best

if they are in good condition, why not
You can pick up some massive saving with second-hand, for instance, I sold come LS1 Pacemakers on here for $300, bargain.

i bought some try y pacmakers for 200 and bought difilippo 1 3/4 headers and twin 3 inch cats for 500 . i find it kinda hard to spend over a grand just for some pipes
mmm that being said. my mechanic came over last night to check out some car stuff i wanted looked at. n i asked him this same question. he said its generally ok, but you can get unlucky n get sold a set with dents, bends, and cracks and you wouldnt even know. so i think im going to get brand newwies.
iv been quoted 660 for supply n fitting for pacemakers, plus 280 to fit a hi-flow cat into the system. so thats 940$ all up, and thats to have it done profesionally. i might ask around abit more n see what other prices people can come up with :P
dents are nothing pacemaker will always rust but its surface rust thats mild steel its very hard to bend and crack extractors.and on a v6 it wouldnt even notice it from a new set
