I've checked old posts and FAQs but can't find any reference to this.
Recently had to replace the manual window winder regulator in the driver's side of my VU II. Somewhere in the reassembley I have obviously dislodged a clip or pin which now leaves the locking plunger depressed all of the time. What this means is that even though I lock the car either with the key or the remote, only the passenger side locks.
Here is the problem!! The plunger is stuck down! Unless I can raise it I can't access the cover plate on the plunger to unscrew the plastic top of the plunger, to in turn get the door trim off to be able to access the lock mechanism inside the door.
Any ideas on how to raise the plastic plunger??? Can't keep leaving my car unlocked.
Pete
Well I keep jigging around with this damn plunger button to no avail. Thought maybe the little orange button on the plunger might be sticking - so squeezed a flat metal blade down there - nothing! Squeezed all around the plunger itself - still nothing! What on earth could be stopping the plastic plunger button from coming up full distance. I have to raise this plunger to get at the orange cover plate to be able to get to the screw behind it so that I can get the inner door panel off. The final straw may be to somehow destoy the plunger button without damaging the surrounding plastic or the door panel. Anybody got any ideas?????? Help!!!!
Is anyone able to help Peter with this? 1) Because it'd be nice if he got some help and 2) because I have the same problem with my VX and I need to know how to fix it myself.![]()
