Default Dust boot rubber... thingy? Bellows?

I've got a bit of a problem... when driving and going over bumps I began to hear random clanking noises coming from the bottom left of the front of the car..... when looking under the car I noticed that the "Dust Boot Bellow" rubber stuff has come unclipped at the front left.

Long story short, is it safe to drive around still without possibility of damaging something and letting this become a more expensive problem?

The clunking could be your link pin bushes.
The broken boot will allow dirt to enter causing the seals in the steering rack to wear out quicker, causing leaks. You can use long cable ties to re-attach the boot

Alright, so If I manage to re-attach the dust boot, can I still drive it for a night since I can't get a mechanic to see to it until tomorrow?

Thanks for the quick response by the way

You can still drive it for now, damage will only be cause if left that way for a long time. If you can re-attach it then nothing else really needs to be done.

And so you think that the re-attachment will stop this noise too? It happens on bumps or lumpy roads.... and also when I turn the wheel all the way to the left (it's the left one obviously lol)

It won't stop the noise but are you sure the noise is coming from there and not your link pin bushes?

Yeah it sounds like it's coming from that spot, the link pin bushes..... if I keep the wheel full lock to the left, and then jiggle it around left and right you can hear a knocking. It also rattles over a road that isn't completely smooth. Can I still drive this tonight? I have to go to work lol.

If it is the link pin bushes then it is safe to drive it's not really a vital piece of equipment, but I would fix as soon as possible.

Cool, I'll take it down to the mechanic first thing tomorrow and see when he can get to it, lucky I don't have work until friday after this, and on uni break.

    Thanks for your help
