I have the MACE Comp Stage 1 cam in my car and love it. Just make sure you get the upgraded springs and pushrods, to be on the safe side.

Also get a higher stall converter if you have an auto, otherwise it will be a little gutless for the first few seconds when you move off from a set of lights.

I already have 105 pound springs and upgraded pushrods. Had them done when i got my custom roller rockers and port and polish done. What kind of gains did you see with the stage 1? and sound diffenence?

Stage 1 has practically no sound difference, nice and subtle. With raised compression and tune I'm pushing 148rwkw, with 350Nm of torque at 3200rpm.

What ratio are the custom rockers? if they differ from stock 1.6 it's going to make cam selection a whole lot harder due to more lift.

I am not up on cams and lifters but don't performance cams also give more lift? And high ratio rockers give more lift? Isn't that a bit self defeating. I believe that after a certain amount of lift is gained, any more gives no extra gain in power output. Don't ask me where the point of no further gain is but I hear stories of broken high ratio rockers on this and other forums due to overdoing things in that department.

Cams don't just raise lift, they alter the duration of valves opening, Lobe separation angles, and all that fancy stuff. Rockers do nothing but increase the lift of the current cam fitted - which is effective in it's own. Sure theres a limit, but I like to think of that as when the valves meet the pistons.

Cam, compression, port and polish, extractors, exhaust, CAI, custom tune. Engine was rebuilt to with new gear (except crank and rods) 1.5 years ago so she's still fresh.

Glad to hear that the build is going strong acarmody

Just goes to show that going a bigger cam is not always a better one, which is reflected by you very broad power curve
