Hey guys,
I'm getting my very first commodore this coming Monday(tomorrow), Upgrading from an older ED Falcon which is slowly dieing. It's a completely stock 98' 50th Anniversary VT Sedan (3.8L Ecotech V6) and has done 175k km's, From what I can tell it looks like it's in pretty good shape and sounds fine, I have also driven it a bit however the car feels really sluggish when driving, It used to be on gas and I had it removed to run it on PULP which i have not done yet(currently got some ULP in it but when I get it tomorrow I'll be filling it with PULP).
I'm a pretty big newbie when it comes to this sort of thing. So what I want to know is, could the car have been previously tuned for gas and now runs sluggish because of this? or maybe because it was on gas the fuel filters need replacing or something?
Cheers.
Firstly, hi and welcome. Secondly, it's a 3.8L, not a 3.6L.
I would get it checked by an independent mechanic before you part with your money. It's highly unlikely to have been tuned for LPG as it requires changing the memcal. They can have dual maps on them, but that is even less likely.
When they run on LPG for the majority of the time, the injectors can clog up and they do run a bit sluggishly and rough. It wouldn't hurt to change the fuel filter and get an injector clean done.
Cool thanks, post edited and brain memory changed. So not a tune, just injectors and fuel filter, Do you think it could be anything else as well? Also, how much do these cost to replace and/or clean?
