Question VY driver seat into VT

How do I do this? Is there any thing that will stop the change? ... I have lined up a VY driver seat and a VY rear cradle with control arms for my VT, no more camber issues (I hope) plus ute irs springs for my acclaim wagon

Having never done it, not sure, but from what I've gathered you need to replace the rails to match up with the VY seat. You will need to disconnet the battery when doing it and you will need to rewire it up so the electric seat will work. But from what I've heard it's not too uncommon to do, was thinking of doing it myself, if you manage to do it, a how-to with pics would be awesome

Upload them on this site? You need to host them somewhere, hell public facebook album is enough. Then link them to this page. Have you put the rear cradle in yet? Is it easy/cheap to do?

I think it is cheap, depending on where you buy the cradle. $75 for mine but I have seen them as high as $500 just for the cradle. Vz can be used as well as VXs2. VY cradle is not in yet, but I think it is relatively easy if you are handy with tools. I can use my diff which I want to do. The hardest part is the wheel alignment ($120) needed when the install is finished as that requires specialist equipment that most back yarders and some mechanics shops do not have, including me. I will post pix as it gets done. Just a word of advice, you have to replace all of the mounting bolts, as they are torque to yield and should not be reused as breakage is possible.

If you have the complete VY seat including the rails, it will bolt straight in. You will probably need to play around with wiring connections though.

Thanks Calaber I will get the wiring diagram for the VT off my Holden disc so I know what I've got and where it goes. Should not be too hard to get the VY one to work unless it has something unexpected, like airbag.

ive placed VY seats in my VT and noticed my air bag light stays on now?? thinking i may need to remove the old wiring loom from the old VT seats and place on the VY seats.

I've realised that the airbag light is on because my vt seats have side seat airbags and the vy seats don't. That's why the vy seats have one less wire (orange clip) so i figured id remove the airbags from the vt seats and put them in the vy ones but after taking the airbags out and the vy backing off the seats i realised there is NO space for the airbags to sit in the vy seats the inner foam has filled the spot where they would sit so its a no go for that one. Will have to go to holden dealer and get them to re-program the car computer to run its system without side airbags. And that should make the airbag light turn off.

Ok so i decided it is just easier and cheaper to detach the airbag from the sensor and install the sensor without the side airbag attached. . . Simple job really just be carefull and use a scalpel and undo the stitching from the out side and it should slide out .
