Help Needed! Fitting a cup-holder with lid in a standard console?

Hey guys, I just bought this from ebay..


Apparently there is a trick to make it fit into the standard console but I couldn't figure it out..

Does anyone know?

not 100% sure but id assume ud need the console surround 2 have the hole cut out like the elec switch blocks have?

It is a totally separate center console to suit the upgraded cup holder. It won't fit into a standard console.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but do the lidded cup holders hold cans/cups any better that the standard ones?

No, they are pretty much the same except for the lid. In fact the ones without the lid might hold drinks better becuase they have that round rubber disc thing.
