Hi Guys,
I have a 50th Anniversary 1998 VT Commodore wagon on gas.
Ever since I have had it (just over a year), on the odd occasion when I turn the car on, it will rev up to 3000 rpm for no reason, sometimes if I then push the accelerator it will come down to normal but most of the time it just stays there on 3000 rpm, whether it's started on gas or petrol, it does the same thing.
I have had the converter changed recently as I was having some other issues but that hasn't stopped this from happening and I'm not sure why the hell it's doing this!!!
Has anyone had the same problem or anyone have an idea what the hell the problem is?
Any help appreciated!
Thanks guys!![]()
clean the MAF, then clean in intake, Throttle body and IAC pathways with some carby cleaner, the TB can stick as well give the blade a clean
all of that was done about 4 weeks ago and no change since then...![]()
Check if there is some slack on the throttle cable. It should have a little slack, but definitely not tight.
