    Default Changing VT Thermostat...

    Hi Guys,

I'm changing my thermostat tomorrow as the temp gauge has been all over the place and am hoping that this may fix the problem..

Just need a bit of help...the gasket i got says that it is 'self adhesive', does that mean i don't need to use gasket sealant??
Are they hard to change, anything I need to not do or anything!?

Never done one before and don't really wanna stuff it up, I assume it's pretty easy to do, undoing some bolts, changing the over, re-doing bolts...easy as that??

    Any help appreciated!!

    Thanks

It's easy enough, I did mine recently and didn't bother with gasket goo, just make sure you scrape all the old gasket off both surfaces, it shouldn't leak. Make sure you bleed the air out of the system after using the screw on the thermostat housing.

all good, plyers did the trick! All back together now, hopefully it now fixes the overheating...the old thermostat had a boiling point of 106, isn't that a bit too high??

on the old thermostat it actually had 196 degrees, then i realised that's Fahrenheit, which is actually 91degrees.
Anyway, changing it has fixed the issues so thank god for that!!
