Not certain, but if it's like the VX you need to press the lock button on the remote twice to deadlock.

The VS models deadlock by turning the key an extra quarter turn in the door lock when locking the door with the ignition key.I know that with some of the the later models you just have to press the locking button twice on the remote, but it should still be able to be deadlocked with the ignition key in the door lock as well by giving it the extra quarter turn..

I know that to normally lock the VS,you just turn the key anti clockwise in the door lock when locking the car, then once it locks, you just turn it another quarter turn to deadlock it.Maybe the VT is the same as the VS..

On the VT series one after you lock it with the remote you put the key in the door and turn it left, you should hear it engage and then you turn the key back to it's normal position and remove it. Series 2 I think it changes to pressing lock on the remote twice.

Id say that the VT series 1 would be the same as the VS then, you can either lock it with the remote, then use the key to turn it the quarter turn to deadlock it like explained above ,or you can just lock it with the key and then turn it the extra quarter turn...
