Car dead, please help

Hey guys,

Had a bit of a back luck run with my commy, need some advice.

Here is the plot:

I was driving with my mate down the princess highway (SYD), as i was taking a right turn the car died, literally died but lights, electronics working fine but just died.

I ended up pushing her down a hill to a spot where she was safe. I was so bummed to think i could have ran out of petrol?? Anyway i trekked to a petrol station and filled up a gerry can and went back and filled her up twice.

The engine was trying to roll over but wouldnt, just ticking like starting up but no engine running ning ning ning ning ning ning nothing. After trying for hours the battery died, couldnt believe it.

Ended up leaving her for 2 days, break my heart and soul scratches and dints all over here god!

Anyway today i went back with my mates car and was going to get her towed finally (broke). So as were waiting for a tow i cant even unlock the car, doors and boot ####ed and battery dead so no central locking, i was so angry but determined i grabbed jumper cables and shuffled under the car and managed to hook up the cables, we hooked them up and started my mates car. Actually got the battery going to the point where i could unlock the car BONUS!

After unlocking the lights etc were still working but bare dead from battery being flat but thinking im charging my car ill try and start her, she went dead! serious dead like blown a fuse dead nothing.

So anyway thats the story shes towed under my garage now safe but!

Could it be my alternator? Fuel lines fine and petrol in car, lights were working before fuse.

Also Which fuse should i be looking for, all power gone?

What do you think? any advice will be appreciated!!

why did you shuffle under the car to hook up power so you could unlock with the remote? why not just use the key in the door?
