Default VX H.I.D. Yah or Nah

I have a VX Executive with the stock reflector healights and i want to install H.I.D's to improve light distance (I live 10km out of a small country town) but there is a lot of debate about whether to use the stock reflectors or go with projectors.

Anyone with H.I.D's and reflectors or projector any information would help. I would like to know if with reflectors if the light is scattered too much and just a general debate about whether they are required or not

    Thanks in advance

Its not whether the owner think the reflector lenses are any good, its what the oncoming traffic think of them. Having been on the receiving end a few times, I can tell you it is shit, I couldn't see more than ~10m in front of my car.

You'll need projectors at the least if you're going for HID's.
Personally I can't see why you need HID's, regular highs are plenty.

Honestly mate if the light output gives you that much grief go for projectors first with just halogens inside... The light output with halogens in projectors will be 20 times better than some peanut chucking HID's into a reflector headlight no offence ay!

10km out of town isn't very far. But if you live in the middle of nowhere, attach a pair of 4WD floodies on the front of your car that you can quickly take on/off.

It's 10km out of nowhere. The population in town is under 5000 so the roads suck and its pitch black

Bullbar? If so it would protect the headlights. If the OPs avatar is his ride (with no bullbar) headlights would be way gone from hitting a roo.

I still think spotties with quick remove plugs and mountings.

if you want HID get projector headlights they have a cut off line between light and dark

go as bright as you want but get them aimed properly so you don't blind someone and cause a major accident

I've got HID's in reflector lights with no problems. You just need to spend the time with your headlight aiming. You need to be slightly lower than standard. The light output and distance is fantastic and they crap all over standard lights. 95% of my driving is done in the dark and I've never been flashed since I've had them in. Even if you look at a new BMW with HID's coming at you head on, their lights are as glarey as fark too. Don't let all the cry babies talk you out of it. FTW go the HID's.
