Hello, I was recently having a debate with someone about the colour of my vt ss. Someone was telling me that mine isnt an SS or isnt its original colour? Im at work atm so i cant upload any pics to show, but its like a very dark blue, almost looks a tad purple in the sunlight, and almost looks black ish in the dark.
If anyone could link me to the colors they came out in or show me images that would be greatly appreciated.
pretty sure ss's dont have the own colour.. and the ss's had the 6 speed bolted to the v8!
ring holden with your vin and ask them what it is.. but 99% sure its not a genuine ss by the sound of it
conveniently holdens GM system is down atm lol i will have to try again later. im gonna be hurting someone if ive been ripped off thats for sure...
the series 1 came out with a 5 speed though btw. 5.7lt had the 6 speed.
it looks the same colour as the pics in your sig mate, does yours have a more blue/purple look in bright sunlight?
yer in the sunlight it has a purple look to it and really dark blue....then looks black in the dark
that settles me a little knowing that cheers mate. ill give holden a call back this arvo and cross check the vin just to be sure!
so i got onto holden and they confirmed the vin is an SS sedan. what confused me a little though, is the compliance plate in the front under the bonnet says 98 model, and its a 5.0 litre series 1, but the lady at holden told me its listed as an MY00? I always thought model year was usually the year of or the year after the manufacture date.
On the build plate above your passenger side headlight, the code A9F at the right of the top line should confirm a genuine SS
VX2 Executive Sedan - 3.8L Auto (for now)VT SS Sedan - Supercharged V6 Auto (Genuine L67 SS)VN SS Sedan - 5.0L 5 Speed Manual (Currently Balga spec waiting for panel and paint)
it will be raven mica..
the good thing about getting older....more toysthe bad news more headaches
Series 1 should be a 5L and series 2 should be a 5.7L
Ohk sweet as then![]()
colour code on the plate above the passenger headlight is B171. I couldnt see anything about that A9F code though...
