go down to holden with your rego papers and licence (proof that you own the car) and ask them for the radio code. you might get away with just ringing them though..

Remove the original stereo and lob it into a pond and get an aftermarket unit.

+1 to do what Cameron said. Holden shouldn't be too fussy these days. They should give you the number over the phone.

    Alternatively it's 4 a digit combo, there's about 10,000 possible combinations, can't be to hard :P

Yeah possibly, I wonder how concerned they are about a 13 year old stereo code? I mean if you could give your stereo number and car info over the phone. Let us know OP.

Walesy's right it's a small business card like thing with all the relevant security codes for the car.

    easiest way is:
before starting the car hold "mode and up"
continue holding as u start the car, and release approx 3 seconds after car is started.
cycle through the options that come up on your odometer window untill there is a 4 digit number should say P7264 or whatever your code is.
also if you keep cycling youll see that your car has a digital speedo, digi tacho, coolant temp, voltmeter, etc.

wrong. match that number to the number in your book, thats wrong. thats the digit code for the ECU or some sh*t.

holden will give you the code im pretty sure, my dad lost his in his maloo and they gave him the code, i think he had to go to them though.

I don't know if it makes it any easier but my stereo only has buttons for 1,2,3,4,5 and 6. so 1111 to 6666. 5555 combinations?

I rang Holden nz, they didn't have it on file but got it off Holden Australia and rang me back with it the next day. They're pretty lax with them

Ahh good point, 4 repeating digits from a pool of 6 is much easier than 10.

In theory it should only take about 4 or 5 hours, if you entered them in at about 1 code per 3 secs. But more than likely you would stumble across it quicker.

i think if you press code 1111 it allows you to use it for 3 or 4 mins annoying but that works.

On a side note do the newer ones have a timeout period? I've taken my vy one out heaps for like 30min and it doesn't ask for the code....

there's always the possibility that the radio may have been replaced at some time.if so the code may be written on the body of the unit.only takes 2 minutes to remove it so it's worth a look.
