I have a 2001 vx which seems too hit a flat spot when speeding up, but only when on the freeway.
i have had the radiator, tranny fluid and oil recently replaced..
Just a suggestion, but it might be worth getting a spray can of carbon throttle body cleaner, could be a bit of carbon built up around the throttle body
explain this flat spot abit more? what revs and what speed etc etc
my mate had this also on a 2005 VZ calais auto doing around 80km, then putting foot down it would feel like a slight loss of power and then perk up again. Also doing it going up hills too... he had it looked at, got computer remapped and it still happened, not sure what the outcome was. if i find out ill post.
Just letting you know so that your not just looking around at VX problems
mates in England driving 1.0L ricers
transmission? does it kick back a gear straight away? or does it hesitate?
or are you only accelerating a little bit and the gear your in just goes no where?!
spark plugs/ leads might need replacing
clean your maf/throttle body/injectors
O2 sensor might need replacing
ok will give the spark plugs and leads a go, and also purchased some injector cleaner,, hopefully it will hep it stop lag when i speed up, but only on the freeway. could i be fuel filter aswell?
thanks for the help
not answering questions doesnt help your situation..
Are you refering to torque converter lock up or is there some other issue? What gear/speed/RPM does this happen at? and does it happen accelerating from rest or when your coasting from 80-100ks and try to accelerate from there?
yeah i was also thinking the torque convertor is staying locked up..
b4 u go replacing leads check the resistance on them 1st and see wat u get?

umm happens as 90-100 kms. when driving around it never happens, and from standing start it is quick to shift with no lag. there is no sound when it does this, just 3 jolts then it goes.
so the gearbox isnt shifting when you put your shift down? or it does but it just goes no where?
