    Default Lukey vs Redback exhaust

I was just looking on ebay and seen there 2.5 inch catback are similar in price and was wondering which would be the better option? There around $170+postage but there is also full exhaust systems for around $360, by full what do they mean as in whats added extra and would it sound better?

I went to my local exhaust shop and he said he'd do 2.5 catback for $380 fitted with tips.

In the end i'm just after what would give me the best sound

I'm not too sure what they are from what you are saying. Check the description to see what they mean.

I personally think lukey sounds the best, I have a 2 1/2 lukey cat system with the rear muffler taken out. Just to make it that little bit louder and deeper.

They arnt to hard to fit, but for 175 get it fitted somewhere if you don't wanna do it. Take a look at these videos of my cat system (no extractors) 1st one is with the rear muffler and 2nd is straight pipe from the middle muffler.

I have the same system as VX21 and I personally think it S#*ts all over the redback cat back, they sound awful. Has a nice crackle when down gearing, providing you have a manual and is quiet on long trips and doesn't drone like the redback. Go to Super Cheap Auto even, they will order you one in for about $200 with no rear muffler just straight through pipes

I have a lukey 2.5", ive heard it with a rear res, no rear res and no mufflers at all and if you want it to sound nice without the drone i suggest you just get it with the 1 muffler at the front.
Me personally, i have no mufflers but when you're driving chicks around, the drone is a real turn off haha. i just have the music up louder though

    175 is a great price

I have the red back twin 2.5 inch on my stato awesome system and glad i bought it parents had a lucky on there vs super 6 sounded like shit and the mufflers blew out in under 1000kms so i personally wont touch any thing with the lukey brand again. both systems have been bought in the last month and took the exhaust shop 3 tries to finally fix my mums exhaust. i got mine off ebay and saved heaps and really happy with it

I have a 2.5" no-name system on mine. Hotdog muffler in the centre and straight pipe at the rear. Very loud, very deep. Got it supplied and fitted for $250

Sound is preferential. Go on youtube and have a look at a few videos and come up with your own conclusion.

yeah i think lukey sounds a bit better then redback, with no rear muffler and straight through pipes is probably the best way to go now i reckon . I might go check supercheap out n see what they can order me in

Haha that video doesn't do it much justice, it's better on take off. Also put it into 2nd in an auto box and it spits like an 8

Umm cost me 50 at performance exhaust in ringwood to take it out and weld the straight pipe
Buy off eBay it's a bargain can fit it yourself easy as

    Default best sound

first thing you want to do is get hi flow cats. not because they are actually hi flow but because when the sound waves go into a standard rectangular cat, the sound wave is distorted by going from small circular to large rectangular and back to circular.
the slim circular cats will keep the sound waves distinctive and loud. get on ebay and save hundreds
next you want a twin system with a cross section or equalizer pipe. need this to stop drone. get them bolt on from ebay. need a twin system to get a bubbley gurgley v8 sound'
if you want more noise remove the rear resinator.
go 2.5 inch all the way.
stainless steel pipes will give a little bit more tin'ey sound but not worth the money.
years ago, jaguar's had copper exhausts and sounded unbelivable. but were found to be toxic. bugger.

Yeah I ended up buying the Lukey one that you linked sounds ####ing sweet! Put it up on the hoist had no problems except the description didn't say that the stock clamp wouldn't fit to hold the pipes together, so had to quickly drop into exhaust joint and he gave me one for free! Other then that very happy with it, once she warms up gives a really deep growl at higher revs, #### the fuels been going quick now lol.

On my vx II s pack. I just took the rear factory muffler out and put in a straight pipe and replaced the cat for a high flow one becasue the factory one had it, also left the factory resi in the middle sounds good. Not loud just a good low note.
The old lukey expansion chamber mufflers sound better.
