Default VT with bad wearing front tyres.

I got a problem. my front's are wearing the inside extremely bad. this is the damage in only 2-3 months. in the past 12 months i have replaced - shocks springs mushroom bushes and bearings - chassis bushes sway bar links tie rod ends balance and alignment... What drives me nutty is the rear had the old wearing camber issue. but nothing a 4 point kit couldn't fix. and for once the rear is wearing near even. but this front has me struggling for the issue. clearly something has got to be a miss bad enough to wear the front's this excessively. Since i've don't the tie rod ends the steering hasn't felt as confident or glued to the road. I've told them this straight away that i wasn't as happy with the front handling and steering after this work... i'm going back to my suspension guys about this. i have had this car and my other car done by them. i trust them however, i can't be blamed if my patiences start to run thin.

Pictures below. Left and right side. and any advice is this common?. Also tread is ER30's.

you sure your guys are aligning that thing properly?? could also be that the camber is out of wack too. Some aligners check the camber but dont actually adjust it
Hit me up with some reputation points if i've helped you out! (Star in the bottom left!) Cheers!

I truly can only go on what they tell me. But tomorrow about 7.30am I'm going in for a massive complaint. Can't spend that much on the suspension and see such tyre wear.

It does look like bad alignment, but I would think the suspension place would have checked that surely. One thing to think about but it may be different on a VT, I had a similiar problem on a VC Commodore, what it turned out to be was wear in the steering rack, the alignment guy showed me that with the car set up on the aligner it all checked out, he then lifted the car up on the hoist and stood at the front and placed a hand on the inner front of each front tyre and showed me how he could push the two wheel apart ever so slightly, he said at speed on the freeway etc the front wheels were splaying out ever so slightly and causing the inner wear, so may pay to see if there is any movement in the rack itself. As I said it may be different on a VT but worth checking. Either that or find a new alignment place and get a second opinion, maybe they are setting the alignment up incorrectly, ie wrong settings, bad equipment or operator error.

By the look of them photo's its a bad camber problem especially on the drivers side.
I'd say they didn't even check the camber when they done the alignment.

No alignment done. Rack almost toast. Control arms gone.. Might as well do the pee steering pump also.

They told me I didn't come back for the alignment check up. And them I remembered, I was that busy I didn't get back. But they apologised when they seen the damage to the tyres.

Anyone got any goss on strut braces if they are any good ?.

damm man thats not good at all, so even wen they told u 2 come back did they do any sorter alighnment 2 the fronts? those tyres r that bad u would have seen the camber on the fronts they should have seen that straight away. if u ever get 1 done again man always ask 4 b4 and after print outs so u can compare wats actually been done and also mainly if u got a camber kit u can see if its slipping at all.

No nothing at all to the car. ant did i tell you about my brother ?. i was so occupied i forgot all about them. but one thing i didn't forget was that feeling something was different. so finally now able to think clearer i finally was able to see the damage - then take it back. the guy that did the car was in shock, he knew it was only march the tie rod ends were done. the boss couldn't say anything other than **** looking at it.

They paid 25k for the wheel alignment thingo about 18 months ago. it's very smart looking with 50" lcd screen and all. and good news. after the work is done this time i'm going to be there. and i will ask about camber and all. turns out the tie rod ends have brought on the power steering rack's fate sooner. also he told me to grab a power steering pump and whilst there they will toss it on for me. and then. if the tyres wear the same, i'm selling the c**t and buying a dsg turbo jetta! lol.
