Talking Vt V6 Acclaim series II - Exhaust/Modifications Need help.

Hi there guys, Been doing some upgrades to my V6 VT for a while now have done the whole sound system and interior/lighting etc. Now up to doing the performance upgrades, i do not yet have my open license so i am not looking to supercharge or turbo my vehicle. I just need some help and direction towards what sort of exhaust to get between a 2.5'' catback or a 3'' for a good sound and what sort of chip and extras to get.

    Thanks eddie.

I'd stick with some straight through 2.5" cat back. have a chat to mace about memcals for your car.

keep the mods till a minimum until you can get an 8, maybe an exhaust intake and chip. id recommend lukey but ive heard some pretty good redback systems, hop on youtube and have a listen to what everyone has on there

Yeah ive heard lukeys good, and heard a few of there systems sound good. will it be pointless to install a hi flow cat then? And what sort of chip can i get and what would be smartest ive seen a few 15-25 bhp chips and air intake ones and so on. and the intake...

hi flow cats are a good idea i reckon, better note and yours it probably as old as the hills anyway. have a look at the mace section, as i understand it their V6 stuff is top notch, they sell memcals and air intakes and stuff.

+1 for lukey cat back without rear muffler, dont even bother with highflow cats or anything if you dont wanna spend too much, if your just looking for a decent note the cat will do it easy, save for the super6/blown6/8 or whatever you want.

I wouldn't touch any of the eBay ones, go for MACE's ones they have been tried and tested to work! And Steve has heaps of other great performance parts especially for the ecotec!

I ship the Manta system with no rear resonator for $220 anywhere in Aus. Hi flow cat is $195, it is an EPA approved 200 CPSI metal hi flow. As said above, a hi flow cat on a 6 would only alter the sound, it would make no difference to ouput.
