Hi all.
The missus' VX. Does every VX sedan require the camber kit for the rear tyres to stop the inner wearing so quick or did Holden fix this problem with this model? I want to fit 17s on it for her and don't want to waste new tyres without getting the kit if it needs it. If needed would be worth doing while in getting the new wheels on it.
Cheers,

Series 1 or 2?
In series 2 it SHOULD be fixed.
Series 2 vx was modified to make camber better. Unless you have lowered it to at least superlows you SHOULDNT have much camber if not any...
Even if its series 1, unless its real low or you tow heavy loads 17's shouldnt wear excessively quick.
THIS ONLY MY OPINION BASED ON PERSONAL EXPERIENCE NOT MECHANICAL KNOWLEDGE If your VX is a series I I'd recommend you fit a for point kit.If it's a series II I'd still consider a 2 point kit.The modification on the series II only fixed the toe problem, which I believe is the major cause of the excessive wear but the camber problem was caused by the control arm being poorly designed with poor quality metal (recycled Coke cans I suspect) I recommend the Pedders kit though you probably wouldn't want to be paying them to fit it if you have another alternative.I had my 4 point Pedders kit supplied and fitted for $560,Pedders wanted $780.
Not all VX series one cars have problems, my VX SS which I bought new did 44,000km on the original Bridgestone B530's, they did eventually wear the inner edge but it was not noticeable until the very end but I was happy getting 40,000+ from them, this time I have bought tyres that are non directional and non asymetrically, ie the tread pattern is the same across the entire tyre, so when I start to notice a bit of inner wear I am going to get the tyres flipped on the rims so the inner edge becomes the outer edge. I have done about 13,000km so far on the new tyres and no sign of wear as yet.
The best solution is to get a vx2 diff cradle which is the whole rear end that is stuffing you up, I was running 19s with superlows once I put in my diff cradle with hardly any camber at all and toe was fine, before that I was running fe2 with 19 and I had camber problems! /\ like that. I had to take the sl's out due to my gas tank making my 19 scrape all over the place but I'm now perfect with vx2 diff cradle and fe2 springs
Can pick them up from the wreckers for about 150-250 and can install them with a bit of knowledge and some good tools, I'll get around to a how to one day
