    Default l67 or ls1?

    let me start with this.
I love my car to bits!
now, still on my p's atm but looking at some power gains for when i get off them, was thinking of buying a complete L67 set up to drop into my car then work on it to get more out of it. but will it still not be able to keep up with a V8?
a V8 conversion looks expensive and i really dont wanna part with my car.

into the vx or vs ?
L67 into the vs would be the easiest/cheapest/fastest conversion... only thing with the L67's is the fuel consumption.... bit rediculous compared to the gen3 for similar power output

To make the power of a mildly worked LS1 with an L67 will cost you alot more than 2k. I looked into it for my VX Cal L67... That's why I sold the VX..

i wouldnt bother with an L67, theyre shit, if you wanna stay with a 6 id go turbo ecotec, but thats a whole different option and pretty expensive
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!

Fair call OP doesn't want to part with his car but considering i have seen VY SS's go for around 7 to 8k I know what the smart choice will be.

LS1 is easy heaps better than the L67... but the L67 is piss easy to do.

Both are tame in stock form but run out of traction very quickly when you start modding them. Modded l67 make shit loads of low down torque but wont come close the peak power figure of a modded LS1.

Both are good, just depends what you prefer

throw an ls1-2-3 in there man.. in the long run it will be a much better option.

LS3 with a cam easy 450+ hp. would be easier to buy one though, 6 to 8 swaps are a lot of work

With having experience with the l67 i would go the ls1-2-3 option. the l67 is a great engine in the right car but a vt/x is not the right car and for the hassle of change over there is little difference in reality.
Contrary to others beliefs the l67 is very good on fuel and does have good power potential but costs to get those gains will get you alot more power out of the ls series of engines and in the end be comparable in fuel usage.

Ill be doing an ls1 conversion when im off my p's
local mate whos a wrecker will sell me a crashed vx ss with all the running gear for straight swaps.
an ls1 will be alot better, l67 is as much thirsty as the v8.
    v8 rumbles too
