    Thumbs down Cracked Rim Repair??

While driving home from work one arvo, there was roadworks on Alfords point bridge (Sydney) there was a decent(and sudden) rise in the road level, resurfaced on one side so was higher.
Doing roughly 80ks didn't see the lip, certainly felt it.
Coincidentally, I now have a slow leak in one tyre.
Went pretty low one night, was at 12 pound, (I inflate to 45 pound for 19's)
Pumped all up to 45, 3 were fine.
    45 mins after BANG! blowout.
    New tyre next day $220
3 weeks later I popped the same tyre! Unrelated tho, something pierced the inside sidewall. Got another tyre and the bloke showed me a hairline crack in the inside of the rim.
Anybody know anywhere in Sydney, or Wollongong where to get it welded professionally?
Been quoted $80 to $100 from magman to reweld, machine and paint inside. (((100 if buckled)))

a mate of mine cracked one of his rims due to road works in the same situation as yours, he went and got 3 quotes, then went to the local council of where the roadworks were and they paid for it, might be worth a shot

same here. Some years back I was driving along the highway and drove through a deep hole on some road works and bent the rim,I had to buy a new rim in the end and sent the bill to the roading contractor and they paid for it so definately worth a shot.

I had the same thing happen to my mag, I when and see the local council and up'ed them for it,
They said to get 3 quotes I did But I couldn't get a place in Australia that sold the same mags anymore, So I hit them up for a new set of mags, in the end I got 960 bucks to go towards the mags and repairs to the car

yeah but remember if its classed as a "road work" area and you doing 80km's an hour and the signs say the changed speed limit is 60 or 40km, because at those speeds you shouldn't do damage.

and if you say you were doing 80 in those zones they wont pay for shit.

I was doing the speed limit, it was like 6pm. Roadwork speeds weren't enforced it was either 60 or 80kms bit I'm pretty sure it was 80, will doublecheck.
So where should I go to first? The council? Or site manager or ?

get a few quotes 2-3ish. get some photos of your damaged rim, if they haven't repaired the hole you hit, get photos of that to.

then go to the council tell them what road it was on give them your quotes and pictures. and pray haha.
