Replace the thermostat.
Check the water level...
Do a cooling system flush.
There is no such thing as stupid questions, Only stupid people.
if you work out the problem let me know my vx 5.7 was doing exactly the same thing although it hasnt for ages but i would still like to know
the good thing about getting older....more toysthe bad news more headaches
yeah no worries... ive been looking all over the net and the only thing that keeps comin up is the electrical side if things mainly bein relay and faulty sensors... only problem is im unsure of where the temp sensor is on the ecotecs... little help?
I had a problem with my VS where the cooling fans would not cut in,I looked for ages trying to track down the problem, replacing relays and testing wires etc,It ended up being the ECU had half died and wasnt commanding the cooling fans on,so if you tried everything else, and have had no success, then keep the ECU in mind. Its probably not that, but you never knoiw. It certainly had me stuffed,it was the last place I thought the problem would lie...There was no other problems with the ECU,just the cooling fan side of things..
hmm i might give it a look into, im absolutely stuffed tryin to work out whats goin on tho...
