Have you taken it to an auto lekky?
Prob best bet if you've tested the bulbs and fuses at home. Could be a loom issue?
    Do the instruments work normally?

yea mate all the guages work fine, i have just found out the previous owner put a 25amp fuse in a 10 amp hole could this be the problem?

That could very well be the issue. I found a 20amp fuse in my ciggie lighter rather than the 15amp that should have been there.
Changed over and no issues. Give it a go hopefully that is all it requires.

The 25 will require more voltage than a 15 therefore there may not be enough power getting to your bulbs. I may have used the "voltage word incorrectly" but you get what i mean I hope.

i changed it back to 10amp but no luck, it needs to go to the sparky to get rid or the airbag light so i guess we just fork out more money to get the lot fixed

a higher amp fuse will not reduce the voltage going thru it, it will just allow more current to flow through it.

ie: if you have a light that draws 5amps and have a 7.5A fuse fitted, but want to link another light that will also draw 5 amps, you'll also need to fit a 15A fuse, as drawing 10 amps will blow that 7.5A fuse.

A fuse is only in place in case a wire short ciruits, or a device malfunctions and pulls more current, the fuse will blow and stop it causing further damage.

    Hope this helps.

hang on wen u say the "speedo only lights up" do u mean the cluster as a whole lights up or just the actual speedo section in the cluster? Also if ur heater unit and other switches lights rnt working theres more then 1 plug 2 check.

Can't see how it would be either a fuse or loom connection problem. Could be damaged wiring I guess, maybe try some new bulbs rather than testing old ones- will eliminate another fault if nothing else.

yeah id say if u tested the bulbs and they r working then check the connections on the globes themselves aswell as the globe holder.

+ 1 to that. It's possible because of the higher fuse that was in place the whole things gone to s**t.

Not if ur other parts of the dash isnt working either so id say the problem lays elsewhere.

did u get a test light or multimeter?
