Would black suit it? I'm thinking black would go with my tinted tail lights and side indicators and once i get monaro head lights it'd all go together.

    I wouldn't bother.
Just keep in mind painted wheels will get stone chips.
keeping white wheels clean and looking good would be a chore.

If done right it'd be hard to chip. I dont smash my car around or anything.

Try it out first with alloy rattle cans... you can buy ones with primer and sealer all in one at Bunnings for about $12. I did mine a while ago on my 4wd, they get chips/scratches now and then as I use it off road, but then I just spray over the scratches.

Why not powdercoat? Deeper gloss than any paint and its stronger.

true, some people like to get in their and have a crack themselves though. nothing wrong with painting them to see how they look and if they turn to shit getting them powdercoated.

I wouldn't bother with painting, I had my 20's blasted and powder coated for $40 a wheel and powder coat is much more durable than paint.
