Default VT v6 replace car battery

I was trying to replace my battery, the new one is about 10mm higher than my old one,

I cannot fit the new one in the boot, does anyone know how to adjust the battert stand?

Another question, which battery brand is a good one?

    cheers

I use a supercharge Gold 36 series in super6 m8 and never had a prob,it also has a little window with a light that shows you the condition of the battery(eg green good)
not sure about the battery prob maybe try get a new battery seat and clips for it from a battery place?
Also check my ride, sitting on HSV R8 19's

I use the Century battery in all our cars. Never had an issue.
I got a Heavy Duty one for the VX as with winter here they tend to want to drain a little quicker.
    Black on Black is beautiful!

Your fitting it in the boot?? VT's have them under the bonnet, behind the drivers side headlight!

The century part number you need is a 58VT (or a 58 will also fit). Century are the only batteries still made in Australia, have a 2 year nation wide warranty, and with the new ones having 540 cold cranking amps, also very powerful

I dont work for century, but I work at Battery World, and if you can get your car down to the shop and buy a battery, we'll fit it for free.

    Cheers.

A month or two ago I got a new AC delco battery for $120,a bargain when compared to some other brands, and its a genuine holden part, so it should be a pretty good battery, but time will tell. Its rated at 600 CCA (cold Cranking Amps). The higher this number is,the better the battery will be under cold starting conditions. It can get down to minus 5 degrees here some frosty winter mornings,so a good battery with a high CCA rating is a must..My last battery was a century 420 CCA,which was pretty pathetic, the engine used to wind over slowly, even when the battery was still new.The new battery winds the engine over heaps fast now,and it fires up instantly now as soon as the key is turned....I paid the same price for the century battery as I did for the AC delco one...

The 58VT is the standard fit from the Hi Performance range, you can also get a 68VT which is the same physical size and from the Ultimate Hi Performance range. When I got mine it only cost me $15 more to upgrade too. As a bonus the warrenty is 36months on the Ultimate Hi Performance.

That's all well and true, and the reason the Delco's are cheaper is because they're manufactured overseas, have a 12 month warranty (century have 2 or 3 years), and you have to take it back to the shop you brought it from, and if it is faulty, you still have to wait for the distributer to test it and authorise a replacement, which means no battery in the mean time.

Century being an Australian company and manufacturer have a network of stores that can test the battery with the authorised century tester (we just paid $2500 for the new tester at my shop), and if it comes up as a warranty, you get a replacement battery on the spot. No messing about with sending it back, or anything.
We sell AC Delco as well, and don't get me wrong, they're good batteries, but with a Century you have the peace of mind that you're covered in future.

Also, yes QldKev, the Ultra High Performance 68VT option is well worth it for the extra year warranty (3 year total) and slightly higher CCA.

Bear in mind, a few weeks ago Century released a new version of their High Performace and Ultra High Performance batteries that have a flat top with recessed cell caps and higher CCA ratings. Depending where you shop they may still have the older style batteries with the raised caps. See if you can get a flat top one as they've got the higher CCA rating.

    Cheers,
    Liam.

The AC delco battery I got has got 3 years warranty, not 1 year..I asked about this when I bought it..I bought it from a battery place called DTM or something similar.Ive kept my reciept anyway so if the battery does crap itself,I will be taking it back,Ive just asked my young blokes who were there with me when I brought it,and they definitely said 3 years warranty..
