That's all well and true, and the reason the Delco's are cheaper is because they're manufactured overseas, have a 12 month warranty (century have 2 or 3 years), and you have to take it back to the shop you brought it from, and if it is faulty, you still have to wait for the distributer to test it and authorise a replacement, which means no battery in the mean time.
Century being an Australian company and manufacturer have a network of stores that can test the battery with the authorised century tester (we just paid $2500 for the new tester at my shop), and if it comes up as a warranty, you get a replacement battery on the spot. No messing about with sending it back, or anything.
We sell AC Delco as well, and don't get me wrong, they're good batteries, but with a Century you have the peace of mind that you're covered in future.
Also, yes QldKev, the Ultra High Performance 68VT option is well worth it for the extra year warranty (3 year total) and slightly higher CCA.
Bear in mind, a few weeks ago Century released a new version of their High Performace and Ultra High Performance batteries that have a flat top with recessed cell caps and higher CCA ratings. Depending where you shop they may still have the older style batteries with the raised caps. See if you can get a flat top one as they've got the higher CCA rating.
Cheers,
Liam.
