i recently brought 18s for my ute. at the moment i have 15s with supers all round and stock struts/shocks. is i put the 18s on is it possible to go FE2 or ultra in the rear and keep the stock shocks or will they just shit themself? any advice welcome![]()
skotlar go to this link: Leons VU series 2 ute
thats my car with the 15s on it
DM 55 WA thanks for the advice. i might look at upgrading the shocks. cheers
yeah have a look mate, you will be fine without new shocks but its worth it for a better ride
Nice looking ute mate!
Is there much of a gap between the guard and tyre (couldn't quite tell from the angle shot)
I'm wanting to lower onto my 15" interceptors and don't mind having a gap if it's minimal.
Also, my ute sits a fair bit higher in the rear (possibly from the shocks the previous owner has put in?)
Does yours sit pretty even on superlows all round or do you notice this angle with your ute aswell?
theres hardly any gap between the tyre and guard. its a good height for the 15s. and mine sat high too with the origonal springs. all fixed now though![]()
cheers man, i know i've been asking a bit around this, just don't want to do the 'try and if i don't like, change' suggestion that mates had given me!
if i lower with sl's all round, i guess i might get away with having my stock shocks without camber kit am i correct? (from what i can tell my shocks seem decent monroes already)
yeah fair enough lol, nothing worse then having to redo stuff!
you will get away with stock shocks, eventually they will chew themselves out though (although ive had SSL's on stock shocks for 6 months and it runs fine). As you have a series II you already have the extra link in the rear end, so a camber kit isnt necessary (unless you can already notice mad camber) but with one you will have almost no camber.
try and ask around locally, and see if any of the suspension shops near you stock lovells springs. i know with some of the places here that stock them you can just point to where you want it on the car and they can set the springs for you.
