The IAC (Idle Air Control) valve shouldnt come apart as far as I know,(in the ecotec anyway)none of mine ever have...The pintle is supposed to be set so it protrudes 28 mm from the IAC body..The TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) comes apart though,it has a small square drive adaptor that comes off the shaft...A lot of people loose this when they remove the TPS and then wonder why they have problems, but its not hard to not notice it fall out as the sensor is removed..This is where a workshop manual saves the day.You know about it beforehand with a manual..
