Default VT Turns But wont Fire

    Hey Guys,
I got a VT 99 and had problems starting it for weeks now she might have temper issues.lol
Soemtimes she starts up right away and then if I park after 3 hours or more she doesnt start anymore.
The motor just turns and wont fire. And I smell a bit of Burnt plastic near the Coil Plack and Module.
Had a Mechanic over a few times couldnt diagnose the problem so we changed the coilpack and module. Was going good for a week now back to the same problem.
Had whole Fuel system done about 8 months ago.

Any Idea what it might be?

    Its a V6
Yeh I done some searching and a lot of trouble with those.

Apart from the Crank Angle Sensor what else could be the possibility?

Just changed my battery, spark leads and plugs only to find out that the leads from the starter motor are fried and sparking when trying to start so I assume starter motor is gone. Gonna change it tomorrow. Will let you know of Outcome.lol

Just a suggestion, have a look at the connector for the coil pack where the harness/loom meets the base, they corrode and the resistance at the connections becomes too high causing heat (burning smell) and intermittent no spark.

I just changed the Coil Pack and Module Last week. The burnt smell comes from the Starter Motor as it sparks up when I try to start the car.
    Thanks for the suggestion tho.

Also how hard is it to change the starter motor on the vt are they a pain in the arse?

    Hey,
    Just updating on this issue.
Just been replacing the Starter Motor today and after 3 attempts on starting her she started up like she never did sounds beautiful now.
So hopefully this was the problem and she will be sweet for a while.lol
