VX Garnish onto a VT
Hey guys,
Got an explosion diagram that I'm trying to figure which parts I'd need and which I don't.
So far I can only be sure I don't need part 5 which is a chrome strip.
Wondering if I can get some info from guys with VT's who've done this already and would know what is needed and what the VT already has.
Any help appreciated.
Looks like I'd be looking at a lot more than I thought if I need every part here.
thats easy mate, just buy the garnish off of ebay and replace it, you will need new number plate lights if you want to pass roadworthy as the old ones wont fit.
then, if you want, you can take the rubber strip off the top of the old garnish and put it on the new one, if you dont want a gap between the join.
The problem is the ones available on ebay don't want to ship and are mainly located over east, there's also hardly any available.
I don't want to buy a piece of shite either :P
mines plastic, i payed 150 for it, it looks really good, not dodgy at all...

I bought 2nd hand so it's hard to say based off the diagram - But you basically need the actual glass garnish, the plastic lower part, and then the clips/nuts that hold it all into place. As mentioned above you'd need the plate lights to match the garnish - I dodgied my original amounts up and they've been fine

Will keep an eye out on Ebay etc for a little while I think before I take the plunge on a brand new one...

i constantly patrol gumtree and the like and if i find one ill let you know, hopefully it doesnt come down to getting a new one lol, but they do look horn!

Don't have the cash for a new one yet so will be a while if I cant find a good 2nd hand one.

id have a look at some of the wreckers down this way, but most of them are run by utter ########s that think stuff is worth unbelievable amounts of money.

Holmart are out of stock, although they advised they've ordered more. Didn't give me a price though.

you in much of a rush mate, im heading to a wrecker to pick up my manual conversion next week i will check there stock while im there and put ur name on it for ya so they will hold it for you will let you know how i go.

Definitely needs to be fresh.. ie. No scratches/chips out of it etc. Don't care which colour the number plate holder etc is cause I've got a guy I can get to spray it!
Let me know how much it costs for that manual conversion too. I'd love to have a manual in my car hahaha.
Plus my auto is cactus so would probably help getting a fresh box :P (long way off being able to afford it but I can plan ahead).

nah just stall up the auto with a huge cam
will let you know on the garnish will make sure its mint. also will pm you with the conversion cost aswell

Yeah MR_VX, unfortunately they don't have any at the moment!

The VX garnish also doesn't have a key hole for the boot lock.
