Default qustiona about a 1997 vt berlina

hello im new to this forum....i have a few qustion regarding my 1997 vt berlia? 1st i have leather int on my car its a tan kinda color the only diff from the leather in the berlina and athe leather in a cailais is my rear head rest dont move up or down not sure why? ( can some 1 give me some ideas on how to care for it as the car is in fantastic condition and i would like to keep it that way for as long as pos.......2nd how many speaker are in the the vt berlina 4 or 6 to me it kinda sounds like it has 6 speakers but i cant see any apart from the 1s in the doors and the rear parcel shelf( does berlina come with 4 0r 6 ? ) 3rd my berlina has a 3 button remote with remote boot release with alarm and emobliser ( is an alarm standerd on a vt berlina?) when i remotely unlock the car all the int lights come on to add seing it in the dark ( is this standerd on 1997 berlinas? ) 4th when opening the ski hold beetween the rear seats should there be anything to stop me seeing into the boot when i dont have skis in the boot?)5th the leather is still very very sqeaky ( is the anything that can make it a bit softer and not so noisy?)6th are car covers any good as im yet to build a new car port)?
7th the elec antenna does not go all the way down can i buy a inner stalk with out having to buy a new elec antenna fron the robbers at holden? ) i got it from auction here in melb it was $10.500 . it has only 104.000 on the clock every thing works like a dream. i took it to get a roadworthy ( and it needed nothing at all just a tiny leak starting in the power stering box.(the mechanic told me it was a very clean car and had never been in a smash...i have read heaps of posts in the vt forum and i have found my vt 1997 berlina has been lucky not to have come up against some of the problems posted in the forum ( from the service books the disc rotors have been replaced 1 time so far and that was done in late 2003...do you think after the above description of this 1997 vt berlina with tundra mica paint was worth$10.500, thanks for taking you time to read this.....have a great weeks end and a better weekend...........cheers all...............tony

    1. Because it's a Berlina not a Calais.

    2. 6 - 2 Front Door, 2 Rear Door, 2 Dash - crapply litte tweeters in the corner
Open the boot and look up where the parcel shelf is, you will be able to tell if there are speakers there or not. As far as I know there shouldn't be.

    3. Immobiliser are standard, don't know about the alarm on a berlina. I know it is on calais. About the lights business, this is a feature, have a read of the owners manual as it tells you how to customise it to the way you want it.

    4. No there is nothing to cover the hole.

    5. Get more ppl to where the seats in i guess.

    6. Better than no protection at all.

    7. Most likely not.

    8. You should post some pics up of your car.

    Torana to the rescue again...

OK I've just checked me VT Commodore brochure and in regards to your stereo... "Six speakers. Total 30 watts." is standard in EVERYTHING. They are located one in each door and two in the rear parcel shelf.

Your power key... the power key comes standard with every single Commodore or Commodore-based vehicle from VS onwards. "Remote control Power Key, with rolling security code, operates dome lamp." In the features list it has sub-features listed just under the power key. I'll quote just the Berlina sedan ones...

    "Releases deadlocks." (Standard on everything.)

"Operates central locking for keyless entry through driver's door only." (Standard on everything.)

"Operates all doors when button kept pressed." (Standard on everything.)

"Operates alarm system." (Standard on Berlina, accessory on everything else.)

"Enables ignition." (No shit Sherlock how else would you start the car? But I put it in to quote the brochure... --- Standard on everything.)

"Opens boot." (Standard on all SEDANS.)

"Unlocks/locks tailgate." (Standard on all WAGONS.)

Once again I hope this helps, Cheers.
    TORANAS FOREVER!!!!!
