I was driving a mates VX the other day and noticed his brakes are heaps more sensative and responsive than my VT's, I noticed that it was easier to put your foot down and there was a lot more braking force, did they change anything in the VX regarding brakes like master cylinder etc.
His has ABS whereas mine does not, but this is just low speed braking where it wouldn't skid anyway. I do have good tyres and new heavy duty bendex pads.
Are you sure your car does not have ABS?
He probably has better brake pads than you!

Do you know what pads your friends car has? Maybe something performance rather than heavy duty

Nah he has standard pads, I deffinetly do not have abs.
You probably have air in the brake lines. Try replacing the brake fluid with some super dot4 and bleeding the brakes.
All comes down to the pad, the discs (to a lesser degree), and very importantly for pedal feel, the brake fluid and lines.

Might give that a go then, because I know my pads and discs are good.
It's the new heavy duty pads your running, high performance / heavy duty brake pads there a high heat brake pad, there less responsive when there cold but they hot they will out brake the STD pads. That's the difference. Not a lot of people realize this.
No, the problem was much worse before I changed to new pads.
my vt doe's not have abs either !!!
Some do some don't, my mates vt aclaim used to have it.
RE: VT & ABS see here... Holden VT Commodore / Calais. So unless yours is an "Executive" and was never optioned up... ALL VX's had ABS as standard accross ALL models.
Barring any issue with the master cylinder/slave... If it's not the air in the lines then the pads are too hard(Require more heat to operate correctly) with the new rotors.
Did you bed the new pads to the new rotors?
Yeah they are. From what I've read it sounds like there could be air in the lines. The ill bleed them and see how they go.
Ok so I replaced the brake fluid and bled them and whilst it did help it still is nothing compared to my mates vx. Could it be a vacume problem or something like that?

Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!
maybe you should just buy a VX?
I have found that on the vx it feels easier to push your foot down on the brake pedal but on my vt theres a bit of resistance. Any ideas?
Probably easiest to check the part numbers on the two boosters to see if they're different.
Does his have bigger brakes? (rotor diameter)
Could be any number of things, perhaps your calipers are getting a bit worn and sticking a little etc
