Default Whining noise coming from somewhere in my vx s pac

hey everyone, first time blogger so im new to this.
ive got a vx s pac, theres this whining noise coming from somewhere in the car, i thought it was the diff so i bought another, but it wasnt, because me and my mate done a diff change over night with a bottle of encouragement lol. the diff that we installed is fine but the whine is still there. whine only happens 1st, 2nd,and 3rd gear. does anyone have any opinion on it, all will be appreciated. thanks

Whenever I hear a whine noise in my VX I tell my parents to be quiet or bloody well walk.

I got a 5sp getrag gbox in my vs also. Does the exact same thing.

Only im certain the whining in mine is to do with the 3rd party dodgy idler pulley the previous owner attempted to install to make it "fully sic".

Does the whine come from the engine bay or the back? Does it only do it when you accelerate?

It could be the bearings in the box itself, might be the thrust bearing? But it could also just be the idler bearings.
I got my box done (POS sounded like it had 500,000 marbles in it and whined like a 14 year old girl) and now it has
the slightest, and I do mean slightest whine, only audible if you really listen for it with no stereo. If you're worried
just take it to a reputable mechanic, take him/her for a drive and see if he can diagnose it. Good Luck.

    Thank for all your opinions.

the whine is only there wen im on the move, wen im idling and rev it, its fine, no whine

ive changed my gearbox because i blew it about 5 months ago so i dont think its the gearbox making the whine.

my mate also thinks it might be the tailshaft or bearing, im no mechanic to say what it is, im just a spray painters apprentice.

im not worried about it if its not gonna cause me any problems, cos i quite like the whine.
    yeah the pitch gets higher

IS it a front wheel bearing as they whine and they are crap as you get about 80 thousand kms out of them
