WH2 front guard

Hi All

Some lowlife hit the front driver guard on my 2001 WH statesman today while parked

I will try insurance and claim 'persons unknown' i dont mind the excess as i want a top quality job done on replacing the guard and some minor repair to the drivers door

In saying that i noticed on ebay Vt guard selling for either $99 or 470 new , i guess they are aftermarket.

1 questions

Is a stock Vt front guard the same as a WH statesman one ??

Has anyone used these cheap replacement ( if i can buy paint and install the guard for less than the $500 excess then maybe i should )

Hi George.

I needed a L/H/F guard for my 2001 WH Statesman. So I asked a wreckers and they gave me a vt/vx Executive guard (same colour as mine). It didn't end up fitting, so I took it back and got a tow bar instead. But anyway, I know that normal Commodore guards don't fit on the Statesmans, i'm still looking for a guard for mine. A pannel beater should be able to get one, they got one for my VS when a truck cut the corner and ripped off my driver side guard.

Anyway, hope that helped a little.

normal commodore guards do fit the wh statesman as i was running vt commodore guards on my wh and am now running vy commodore guards on my wh as I'm going wk front. if you dont believe me check out my build thread as there's proof in there and i pulled the guards of a 97 vt.

I believe you, but with mine, the pannel beater showed me when he sat it on my car, there was a 0.5 inch to 1 inch gap between the guard and the front door, and the front of the guard was sitting flush with the headlight, so he ended up bolting up my old one for now.

I have seen a wh with a HSV VX? kit on it, its on youtube. YouTube - ‪Supercharged WH Statesman walkaround.‬‏ but i'm not sure if he changed the guards or not.

Hi All

Well the car is at the panel shop and going through insurance, the front RHS guard and the wheel has been push forward, so the repair is over 3k

I contacted a Ebay reseller for new VX guard and he advised the WH is slightly different and has a different part number

So i cant do a simple guard /spray bolt on
