    Default vibrations under acceleration

just wondering what could cause vibrations from the rear end under heavy acceleration, more noticeably with less acceleration when i have people in the back. im thinking first step is to change the center bearing in the tailshaft, but what else is there?

i got my diff rebuilt a few weeks ago and he said the uni joint looked fine, at least at the diff end. he also said it could be drive shafts causing that?

Look at your Engine mounts, your unis and CV joints. Their the common points that cause vibrations.

I'd be looking at correct uni orientation at the diff end if thats the only end that was touched when getting work done.

thing is though i cant really compare it to pre diff rebuild as i got it done like 2 days after i bought the car. it had a whine in the diff when i bought it so i drove it softly til it got rebuilt. then soft again for 1000 k's after the rebuild so i dont know whether it was like that before or not. you dont notice when just drive casually, only when you put it under load via acceleration or with weight in the car.

check bolts are tight and that center bearing is mounted straight....

if noise is worse when more weight in the car its likely

    • something hitting something else thats moving
    • an incorrectly aligned shaft
    • loose component
    • an unbalanced component spinning (worse at higher speeds or load)

have a close look at the drive shaft and see if there a cleanish spot where a weight used to be....may just be unbalanced....
