Hi my brother in-law just purchased a vx ss, its a 5.7ltr, auto ect ect....anyway i was looking at the id tags on it, and it states it is a "p/car". My question is, was all vx ss`s listed as a "p/car" (which i gather means pursuit car) as cop cars were ss`s... or is it in actual fact a ex cop car? I`ve tried searching the forum but cant find much on actual id`s of tags. If anyone knows of any links where it states the codes and stuff, please put them up for me to read. The car is a purple colour too which the previous owner reckons was rare, im not even sure if it came out in that colour or not?
Say p/car on mine as well.. means passenger car..
it's actually a very rare passenger car
congrats on your find
All comedians on here...all i wanted to know was what p/car means, it was a genuine question....i don`t need to hear smart ass comments
its passenger car mate.. if it was a police car they would change the tags and what not i dont think
sorry if you dont get there humour
i know the earlier cop cars were tagged as Bt1, thought they might have changed things with the later commodores, i wasn`t sure. Thats why i had asked the question.
VT and onward police car's are tagged "9C1"

yes the VX SS cop car is awesome
it's an exec with a V8
congrats![]()
as stated above, i dunno about newer model commodores, it should have BT1 stamped on the compliance plate, my old VS ex cop car did anyways. i assume that wouldnt have changed for newer cars.
edit: just seen the post above, i jumped the gun a bit.
Maybe Purple car = P/CAR
lol yeah means private car, lol~!
as in for private sale (as in holden to "joe blog") cars sent straight for use in areas where they dont need to be registered will be tagged different same as police ambo's and fire trucks and afp cars i think~!
