Default How to open dead locked rear door VT Calais

Hey guys. I have found a vt calais 1999 at my local wrecker with chrome window surrounds which i am epic keen to get. But, the battery is removed, they don't have the key for it and the rear doors are locked (and seem to be dead locked)

All windows are wound down so there is access, and the front doors are open.

Trying to pull up the knob and it is solid as a rock (which makes me think it has been dead locked). Lock surrounds are off and interior door handles are off, this is the only access point to the internals of the door.

Please tell me there is some special way to open the door easily with no power?

But they don't have the key so battery won't help.

Hoping Its not easy to get around the deadlocking for when my cars parked. Can you get try get the strips off without opening the door? Might be easier. Wrecker probably wouldn't take too fondly to the crowbar idea.

Edit: if you can get inside and take the doorcard off you might be able to remove the latch mechanism?

Once you power up the car with a battery, you should find that the doors will unlock when you try to manually unlock them by lifting the locking buttons ...That is of course unless it has been deadlocked...We've ran into this same problem when the car was left locked and sitting for ages and the battery went flat.We had to power up the car before it would let the key turn in the door lock to unlock it..

It would be the child proof locks, not deadlocked. Pull the rod that is in the rear handle hole and it should open.

Sounds weird that they have no keys and no battery so how did they un deadlock the front doors? Have to agree with previous post that it might be child proof locks.

If it was child locked, the outside door handle would open it...

The interior door handles dont open it either so it must be dead locked

I retract my earlier post, I got it the wrong way around.

You may have to cut a hole in the door trim and unhook the actuators then manually pull the door release.

How were the front doors unlocked????? The system is designed to operate the deadlock off the BCM AND the driver door key...IF the front doors are unlocked...THEN THE BACK DOORS CANT BE DEADLOCKED...system wont allow it.........Try hooking a battery pack up under the bonnet, see if the the lock arms pull upremove the button and pull on stalk hard with pliers,,,,,,the doors are jambbed somehow...BUT I can tell you for sure that they are not deadlocked...sorry system just dosnt work like that......
Cut a hole in door cards to allow access to inside door, your issue is mechanical jamb, not deadlock.....
