just did mine the other day. basically take wheels off undo sway bar link pin, undo two bolts holding shock to hub, then undo strut top nut using a 10mm and a bigger one for the big nut i cant remember the size (be careful not to round the 10mm nut) take strut and assembly out, use spring compressor and then undo another nut on top of shock rod and remove the washer bush etc.

No need for spring compressors to do the fronts.

Leave the car on the ground, remove the plastic cap on the strut, undo the nut under that. Then remove the plate and undo the next big nut. Remove it completely. Then jack the car up slowly until the tension has been released from the spring. Remove the wheel and completely remove the strut from the car.

When removing the bushes and washers, take note of the order and orientation of them and make sure you get them back in in the right order. Bolt t all together on the ground and tighten the big nut. Fit it back up into the car and put the plate and next nut on to hold it in place while you refit the bottom. Then put the wheel back on and lower the car and tighten the strut nut.

I will say though, that you will need compressors only when fitting standard height springs, when fitting lowered springs, they are short enough to get the top nut on without compressing them.
