window tinting whos good at it and whos not

hello.this is my last q for 2day at least, my windows are tinted but not as dark as i would like i would like to go to the darkest legal tint i can ...im kinda asking for some feedback in regard to any 1 who has had window tinting wether it be good or bad as i would like to weed out the cheap and nasty tinter and try and get myself a tint that will still hold up 5 years from now,i have looked a the tint profesore for around $285 now i dont know if he is any good? or i can get a better tint some other place? i dont mind paying a fair price for a fair job if i need to pay more for better tint some place other than the tint proffesore that aint a prob i just need to know were i can get a good tint in and around melb and ill be gone like a rocket to get it done.the factory tint on my berlina is not all that bad but as i have very very light tan color leather int it kinda makes the inside stand out a little and i would like to darken it just a little more on this subject even the smallest/tiny bit of info will be a great help to me to weed out the bad tinters and get my self a good tint that last or would i be better of looking to get darker holden factory tinted windows from the wreckers? and pay to have the 2nd hand tinted class put in? as i said the smallest bits of info on this subject will be most helpfull to myself.............thanks again guys ( this is a great forum ) cheers again.........have a great week end and an even better weeks start..............tony from melb

All tint gets wrecked after a few years. Most places i have called have quoted me about $300 bucks, Thats it is for tint that is just passed legal as it tends to fade abit so it will last longer if you go abit darker. It also depends where you are because NT and places like that you are allowed much darker tint because of the weather.

Ill Ring Around On Monday Ill Go To The Tint Proffesores Web Site And Have Another Look,,,,,,,,,i Just Hope When I Get It Done My Car Dosnt Come Back With And Rattles Or Squeaks In The Dooors.....any One Had Thair Car Tinted And It Came Back Making New Noises? ......................thanks Again................cheeers Tony

im not in melb but i got mine done for $300 with a lifetime warrenty.

it was 5% all around (illegal)

then i changed 2 front windows from 5% down to 20% so i could see something at nite lol

so i got front win. @ 20% and the rest is still 5%

TINT-A-CAR used to have a product named MIDNIGHT BANDIT and have now released a "new" tint called MIDNIGHT EXPRESS, its actually the same tint, but with a new name, to increase sales and revenue once more...TINT-A-CAR actually use dye based tint which, fades after just a year or 2, to a purpley colour...a mate of mine owns GTS tinting and he uses the carbon based tints, that what you want to look for, they last sooooooooooooo much longer and generally come with a lifetime warranty...they dont fade, crack or peel...he would do my VT for $200 for me but charges about $290 for the job...even if you can get a mate wanting to do it, do it at the same time and they will discount you further...hope this helps mate

I'd go the Professor mate. I am just recovering from getting 'tinting off a mate' deal myself - never again. Make sure they know what they are doing.

My friend had a problem with one little mark on his new Tint Professors tint after they did it. He showed me I could hardly see it and they stripped it off and redid it for him without him even asking. They seem pretty good to me.

I havent got $265 bucks like my mate

I am going to have a shot at tinting myself actually - doing my sisters car first. I have a question on tinting but I wont hijak your thread here. I'll post a new one.
