    Default Cam or Supercharger

    Hey Guys,

Was thinking of going one of the above, i am steering more towards a cam, stallie, oil cooler, not tying to build a race car just was some more power and that lumpy V8 sound, the mods i have thus far are:

    duspeed otr
    mafless tune
    extractors
    high flow cats
    2.5 exhaust
    3.46 diff gears

if there is any info that you guys could give me would be great like what cam, good place to go get it done (sydney) etc etc
or if there is any info you could give me regarding just getting a supercharger put on instead

thanks guys any advice would be great and if you have either of them done to your car now please let me know what is like positives/negatives

    thanks,

    Hyper

if your just after more power and a lumpy sound then go a camshaft. assuming you use a decent sized bump stick (232/234) and a decent sized stallie to match you can push 400hp.

if your after driveability, and the potential to make big power go a supercharger. can easy make 450hp+ for not much money and still retain fuel ecomony and streets manners.

also keep in mind in that in the event of a defect its much easier to remove a supercharger then it is to remove a camshaft.

for places in sydney speak to sonny @ marrano's.

Cam generally $3000-$4000 depending on extra's
    Charger $8000+

DM unsure how people can be defected for a cam and even a supercharger these days with harrops kit ADR aproved as long as its all in good order (emissions) it shouldn't be defectable

    $8000 for a charger?

i know TONNES of people that have been defected for cams, never heard of someone being defected for a supercharger.

fails emissions = defect, and a lot of work to get it removed.

id lean on the side of F/I whether it be supercharger or turbo.

Slightly off topic but can you and is it hard to certify your notifications in Australia? If so you could do it with a cam and cops couldn't touch you for it

Australian cops sound tough nz cops will believe cut springs are lowering ones if you paint them yellow and dint check they're captive. But you have to get a certification plate under the bonnet for mods like coilovers

Talk to Raptor Superchargers. Site sponsor. Cost vs gain might move it towards supercharging if the motor isn't tired.

If you've got the money I'd go PD charger. Harrop HVT1900.
