Check that the battery terminals are clean and the clamps are tight.

Also have a look where the battery cable is bolted to the starter motor. It is a common problem on the V6 for the nut on the starter motor to come lose .I had a similar problem , car would turn a couple of times on the starter then would struggle to turn and sometimes just cut out when driving .

Hi thanks for advice, however the car is on not co-operating..it started ok comming home from work last nite and i had all power and was fine until the high beam lights started comming on and off on their own, the car got me home and locked fine, go out this morning and i have nuthin no power the doors wouldnt even unlock using remote or the key. I waited 2 hours went out to try again the doors unlocked using the remote and all power was there and car started first turn of the key, i cleaned the battery cables and placed on tight and i checked for teh area where dayvo suggested all seems fine, i am guessing with the high beams comming on by themself its definately electrical, any suggestion on where i should start would be hugely appreciated.Thnks again

Clean the battery terminal with 40 grade sand papper make sure that the connection are nice and clean.
Also check all the earthing points clean the terminals and the surface. Check the earth strap from battery to body/engine.
Also check behind the alternator positive battery wire from the battery to the alternator. These become loose.

The high beams coming on by themselves could be a faulty indicator stalk.
