    Default Red back straight pipe

Hey all I want to take the rear muffler off my red back system for a straight pipe does anyone know where I can get one and does it just attach like the muffler with the bracket or does it have to be welded on?

Ive heard the same systems as mine without the rear muffler and it sounds alright. Can't say I've heard one with a hotdog. What benefits can I expect from the hotdog? And how much?

ask yourself, do you want a loud note or do you want a nice note.
a hotdog will make the exhaust note quieter, but will give it a much deeper tougher note

If it isnt tuckin, it must be suckin

Ideally both lol but you can't expect much of a 6 or without spending big bucks. Yeah ok I'd prefer a better note, would it be any quieter than with the current muffler? And a rough price fitted? Cheers

i took the read muffler off my car cause i wanted it louder, back then i never knew what a hotdog was, and it sounded alright but to loud for my liking and i always never new if i actually liked it. then i heard of this hotdog thing so i had one installed for $90 and i have never looked back... sounds beautiful compared to the straight pipe. all the hotdog does it cut the excess drone and loudness and straight pipe would reduce and give you a clean loud note

Yeah ive heard of hotdogs and sorta knew what they do. I took the muffler off to see how it sounded, I don't find it too loud but as you said not sure if I really like it. It is cleaner and louder higher in the high rev range and idles nicer but I guess I'll give it a go and see. Cheers

heybuddy! i have a vx commodore v6 and i put pacemaker extractors into my standard cat, then a 2.5inch reback system without the rear muffler. and it sounds amazing for a 6. what makes it is that it doenst have the rear muffler. its manual so when u downshift it crackles really nicely.
all my mates are heavy car enthusiests and they recon its the best commi 6 they have heard.
    no rear resinator is good

Hope you local roads mob dont have Db testers.......If your car is over 96Db at x amount of revs(3k i think), you are unroadworthy......Mine was 102Db at around 2k but 92Db at 3k...mine is JUST legal in Victoria

Yeah I originally planned to have pacies installed when I got the cat back done but ended doing other mods instead but it's def on the list. Mines an auto so I won't get those nice crackles when down shifting but I think I'll give the hot dog a shot. Thanks mate
