I have an issue with my front passenger window. I had a look and the black piece that is attached to the front of the window that slides within the window guide has come off. Has anyone had this issue before or knows what is involved in fixing it?. Does it require me changing the glass?

Nah, its a power window. Inside the door there is a aluminum slide at the front of the door. On the front edge of the door there is a black metal piece that is normally attached to the window that slides in the aluminum slide. This has come off. So as it goes up, it jumps out of the slide and misses the slide going down.

Sounds like the slide has been damaged...Believe it or not when these are put back together people do em up to tight without spacers and then the Bolt marks the rails, Jambing the glass, or popping the rails......
Easy fix go the the wreckers and get an inner rails, replace the lot, sould be less the 1hr to do job, aluminium rails can be romoved out of door, and replaced independent of the glass, and regulator.....easy job

yep, thats is about it....you will feel when the aluminium slide is free, it can be released from rubber and it will slide out upwards....Check for damage to the slide rail. if damaged replace...When replacing, MAKE SURE that the locator Bolts DO NOT Tighten into rail. use a suitable amount of washers to help to facilitate this.... ..this is how the damage is done......the slide is attached to the black piece, high possiblity of contecting areas being damaged or broken, suggest that you source a replacement Part
