    Default Replace or clean?

How can you tell when the fuel filter needs to be replaced? Has anyone ever cut through the fuel filter and see whats inside? If its just a wire mesh can we flush it straight through with some solvents and put the filter back in?
    I'm curious...

^^^^ agree, for the cheap price they are, its way easier just to replace it. and no theres no real way on knowing when to replace it, i replace mine every 10,000/15,000kms

i just checked the maintenance schedule and it said every 40,000kms but i do mine at 20,000kms, its always good to replace with the amount of crap that is in fuel.

The filter is paper and gets blocked with the crap in the fuel. Don't try and clean it, no point, you will spend more time and money on cleaning than a new one is worth.

I replace mine every 2nd service.

Unless the Fuel Filter is specially designed to be cleaned and reused......DONT TRY IT......
as other have mentioned above, Cheap disposable replacement items, Buy a brand new fuel filter, change them as you change your aircleaner. Simple
