Default Need opinions and advice, VT

Hey all, just have a few questions regarding my VT..

I've attached a few pics showing my front fender, im wondering if anyone around the perth area knows of a panelbeater who'd re-align that and fix up the paint for a decent price? I have a few dents on the rear fender aswell and I went to 2 places in morley and was quoted $780 and $1000 for 2 new reo-bars and a few clips.. i rekon both are pulling my leg. Wayyy to expensive. Watcha rekon?

And just for looks sakes, which look should i go with? The pic with the wheel trim or where the chaser rims showing?

    Cheers fellas

Try one of the mobile bumper repair guys for a quote, there are mobile guys that do a lot of work for car yards respaying sections of bumpers and blending it into the un-damaged bits, probably about half the cost of the panel shops, the bumper alignment you should be able to fix yourself, probably a broken clip or bent bracket or such. Re the wheels, my personal opinion is hub cap on, or respray the wheels silver if you want to go the chaser look, the black just looks dirty to me.

I've got a VT SS Front Bar for sale that just needs a respray
    hahaha

My VX SS front bar that I've fitted does a similar thing, it'll pop out of the grooves every so often, pain in the ass cause I love it looking flush.

Just to give you an idea on price for the front bar resprayed, you'd probably be looking around $300-500.

I'd be keen but i'd probably break more then i fix, though if I had someone there just in case things went haywire i'd defs give it ago. Want a free carton of booze? haha.

I'll call a few wreckers tomorrow and see what there pricing is on a spare fender.

If i wasnt about to spend 800 odd bucks on repairs id be interested in the ss bar, when i get a spare weekend ill follow a how-to and take the front bar off and see what's been done, lucky theres a holden dealershop down the road so i can walk down and pick up some clips if need be. for a first timer is it relatively simple?

the bad news is m8 you cant just get the clips there part of the bumper so you'll have to replace the whole bumper unfortunately if there busted or put up with the miss alignment untill can purchase new one

The front bumper is a piece of cake dude!
3 screws on top in the centre of the front bumper (pretty sure it's same for the VT front bar, I'm just going off the VX one).
And usually 1 maybe 2 on the side in the wheel arch, then it's just a case of pulling the sides out (sometimes it may take a bit of a pull) and the front will come with it.

Oh really? Does it take much to bend the reo-bar? One of the guys i grabbed a quote off said he'd probably have to replace that. If tapping a pole going about 5km's an hour bends a metal bar, id be shocked.

BTW, is there any benfit of having an after market filter on your power steering? I'm thinking of replacing it with a genuine hose from holden. I'll put a pick up later if your unsure of what i mean.
