VT SS, weird highbeam light fault, rear passenger door is stuck closed...help!

Hey guys

first off, my highbeams randomly come on at night when im driving around and its becoming a nuisance since it makes me look like a dick head high beaming random people. Could it be the stalk on the steering wheel? thats what i have been told and i was wondering if its an easy fix if so can anyone walk me through it please. Otherwise any other suggestions to this problem could help.

Second, my passenger side rear door is stuck closed and does not want to open at all. ive opened up the inner door handle and tried pulling on the inner wire but to no success, the lock isnt even connected and i think it might just be the mechanical lock thats holding on.. what can i do??

a stalk is a quick easy change, if your thinking its down that track, grab one from a wreckers.
unscrew the steering wheel shroud, the stalk slides out and you just have to disconnected the wiring. slide in the the new one and your done.

however its obviously a wiring issue, so it may or may not be within the stalk. defidently a good starting point though.

as for the door........ not my thing, try jaws of life
